PROGRAMMABLE EQUALIZER SYSTEM

Altec Lansing Corporation mmounces
the Programmable Equalizer System.
This system is comprised of five new
products, two equalizers and three
controllers, that tOgether constitute a
programmable equalizer system.
These products are: the 8551 A 28
Band/Single EQ Programmable MicroAudio Equalizer and the 8558A 28
Band/Multiple EQ lVlicroAudio Equalizer. The controllers are the 8051 A 28
Band/Single EQ MicroAudio AutOprogrammer, the 055A MicroAudio
Programmer, and the 061A MicroAudio PC Computer Control Adapter
with Acousta-Graphic'" Software.
The 051 A MicroAudio Autoprogranm1er is a full-featured control
unit. It provides a one-third octave
equalizer, a controlled real time analyzer, a microprocessor, and a pink
noise generatOr. This ulli t may be left
in a system if desired but is usually
used by the installer to set up one of
the stand-alone equalizers permanently installed in the system.
A hand-held programmer, the
055A MicroAudio Programmer allows the user to adjust each band of a
stand-alone equalizer individually.
The 8061A 1icroAudio PC Computer
Control Adapter is a circuit board designed to be installed in an IBM PC,
Xl; or AT-type computer or a 100%

compatible.
Settings can be printed out or saved
on disk for permanent archive stOrage.
RTA readings can also be read from
memories of the 8051A.
A stand-alone, one-third octave
equalizer, the 8551A 28 Band/Single
Memory MicroAudio Progranm1able
Equalizer has a non-volatile memory
so even if the AC power goes off, the
settings programmed into the equalizer are "remembered." The unit is
connected to one of the controllers
(8051A, 8055A, 8061Aj only during
the progranul1ing process.
The 55 A 28 Band/Multiple Memory MicroAudioProgranuuable Equalizer is identical to the 551 A wi th the
exception that it can hold up to eight
separate equalization curves that can
be accessed from the front panel by an
authorized user within a few seconds.
it is not possible to make any changes
to equalization settings without a
progranu11er.
The Altec Lansing Programmable
equalizer system is tamperproof, has
multiple memory EQ with read/write
capabilities and is quiet with noise
floors below - 90 dEm.
