Fellows of the Institute
The Fellows have achieved that rank through many years of exceptional participation in various aspects of USITT and the
entertainment business.
2023 Recipient: Kim Scott
Kim Scott currently serves as the vice president
for experience for Enchant Christmas,
one of the fastest growing live entertainment
companies in the United States. In addition,
she is the chief executive of KS Consulting.
Scott has more than 25 years of experience
in the entertainment industry; whether on
the stage, offering her expertise to clients and
boards, or as the manager of large-scale productions,
she has experience in all aspects of
live entertainment and production.
Scott is the Institute's current Treasurer and
the Director-at-Large for the Intermountain
Desert Section of USITT. As Treasurer, during
one of the most challenging financial times
in USITT history, with the cancellation of the
2020 Annual Conference & Stage Expo and
the COVID pandemic shutting down significant
portions of the entertainment industry,
Scott provided a steady and savvy hand. As an
active member of the Setting the Next Stage
campaign committee and a current member of
the Institute's Development Committee, Scott
has worked tirelessly to expand our corporate
fund-raising efforts. She is personally responsible
for several corporations becoming sustaining
members of the Institute as well as direct
contributors to various Institute funds.
She was a co-founder of the USITT Elite
Training Program, providing students and
faculty the opportunity for hands on training
with the entertainment industry's top professionals.
Scott
served as chair for the eSET
Council; the Essential Skills for Entertainment
Technicians, helping to define the technical
standards for entry-level technicians.
Prior to her position with Enchant, Scott
had a rewarding career with Cirque du Soleil,
ultimately serving as the senior manager
for sourcing and partnerships. Prior to that,
Scott's company managed Cirque du Soleil
productions KÀ, The Beatles LOVE, and
CRISS ANGEL BeLIEve.
She was directly
responsible for all aspects of these shows
and oversaw more than 300 cast, crew, and
staff members who operated the productions
daily. She also served as the director of show
support for the Resident Shows Division and
conceived and implemented the Educational
Cooperative Program, which connected live
entertainment companies and key universities
around the world providing faculty and
students hands-on training and custom curriculum
development. She also created and
authored the Ascension Program, a three-tier
internal management development program
that identified and coached internal talent to
all levels of leadership within the company.
Through her leadership, she opened the doors
to many a USITT member to high-quality educational
experiences with Cirque du Soleil.
Scott holds a BFA from the University
of Nebraska, Lincoln, and an MFA from the
University of California, Irvine.
Her commitment to USITT is unrivaled,
her engagement with the Las Vegas entertainment
industry legendary, her career trajectory
impressive, and her consistent leveraging of
whatever she is doing to benefit our membership
sets a standard few could match. She is
more than deserving of becoming a Fellow of
the Institute.
