According to AAR's Dec. 6 Rail Time Indicators report, U.S. railroads originated 1,007,549 intermodal containers and trailers in November, up 7.8 percent from November 2012. The November 2013 weekly average of 251,887 intermodal units was the highest weekly average for any November in history, according to the report. With November's monthly gain, U.S. intermodal rail traffic volume has now risen on a year-over-year basis for 48 straight months.
