IANA Members to Vote on Silver Kingpin Award On or around June 1, IANA voting members will receive an electronic ballot for use in selecting the 2015 Silver Kingpin Award recipient. In a change from the previous selection process, this year's award winner will be chosen by the voting membership of the association. Nominations received from IANA members have been reviewed by the Industry Awards Nominating Committee (IANC), and the Board of Directors will present a slate of Silver Kingpin candidates. The voting period will end June 30. Ballots will be sent from iana@ intermodal.org with the following IP addresses: 64.46.54.108 or 198.21.6.73. The Silver Kingpin Award will be presented during Intermodal EXPO 2015. UNT Wins IANA Case Competition The University of North Texas was the winner of the seventh annual IANA Logistics and Supply Chain Management Case Competition in Jacksonville, Fla. The University of North Florida hosted the April event, which brought together seven leading supply chain management programs from across the country. The annual competition is underwritten by an IANA scholarship award to the UNF. Since the scholarship program's inception in 2006, the association has contributed more than $1 million to schools that offer course studies directly related to freight transportation operations. Case participants analyzed a Florida-based scenario - the Florida East Coast Railway's potential intermodal service to Central Florida - before a panel of nine industry executives, including two former and two current IANA board members. The runner-up team hailed from the University of Tennessee. Other participating teams were from Auburn University, Michigan State University, the University of Arkansas and the University of Maryland. Debbie Sasko, assistant vice president for Information Services, celebrated her 20th anniversary at IANA in April. Debbie leads the team responsible for programs such as the Uniform Intermodal Interchange and Facilities Access Agreement (UIIA), the Global Intermodal Equipment Registry (GIER) and the Intermodal Driver Database (IDD). The Information Services Division has seen solid growth during her tenure, and Debbie continues to identify new opportunities to provide business solutions to the intermodal industry.
