Ltd. for 11 secondgeneration Triple-E containerships, each with a capacity of 19,630 twenty-foot-equivalent units, with an option for six more vessels. The Harbor Trucking Association is partnering with Trucker Chassis Connection and ChassisFinder.com to create a new California chassis pool, initially with 200 chassis based near the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach plus 50 units outside the Port of Oakland. Austin, Texas-based private equity firm Tritium Partners has assumed an unspecified "majority investment" in Randolph, Mass.based drayage and logistics firm RoadOne IntermodaLogistics. CMA CGM America Inc. parent CMA CGM Group has launched expanded container shipping offerings between North America and North Europe, including a new service in conjunction with Hamburg Sud and United Arab Shipping Co. with U.S. calls at New York, the Port of Virginia in Norfolk, the South Carolina Ports Authority in Charleston and the Georgia Port Authority in Savannah, as well as addition to an existing service of calls at Maryland Port Administration docks in Baltimore. In a deal for which financial details were not announced, United Parcel Service Inc. subsidiary UPS Capital plans to acquire Parcel Pro, a Torrance, Calif.-based logistics firm specializing in insurance coverage and related services for transport of jewelry and other high-value goods. EnPro Industries Inc. company Stemco has announced entering into an agreement, subject to regulatory approvals, to acquire the Veyance North American air springs business of Continental AG. Crowley Maritime Corp. has acquired Seattle-based Maritime Management Services Inc. in a transaction for which financial details were not released. Also, Crowley has been awarded a contract with the Sunrise Operations LLC subsidiary of Pasha Trucking LLC parent The Pasha Group for operation, crewing and maintenance of four Jones Act ships running between Hawaii and the U.S. West Coast. NFI Industries has opened a distribution center in Lancaster, Texas, in support of Rent-A-Center Inc. Canadian National Railway Co. is spending $20 million on expansion of its cold supply chain capacity, including acquisition of 200 domestic, 53-foot-long temperature-controlled containers. Also, CN has inked a memorandum of understanding with the Alabama State Port Authority in conjunction with the authority's development of an intermodal rail facility at the Port of Mobile. This year, Union Pacific Railroad is investing $383 million in improvements to its Texas infrastructure and $137 million in similar work in California. Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc., parent of Roadrunner Intermodal Services, is expanding its less-than-truckload services in the Phoenix and Salt Lake City areas. Top officials of Florida East Coast Railway, PortMiami and the Panama Canal Authority have met in Panama to discuss advancement of the canal expansion project and tour the construction site. Also, FECR has augmented its next-day service to Fort Pierce, Fla., to include weekends.
