The global container shipping line also recently added 3,000 PrimeLINE® units to its fleet, with 1,000 of the refrigerated containers equipped with Carrier Transicold's XtendFRESH™ controlled-atmosphere system. XtendFRESH™ actively manages oxygen and carbon dioxide levels within refrigerated containers and removes ethylene to slow the ripening of produce. Canadian National submitted an environmental impact statement to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency for construction of a proposed logistics hub in Milton, Ontario. Werner Enterprises Inc. will mark its 60th anniversary with plans for a proposed training and maintenance center in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. The 67,000-square-foot facility would replace and triple the size of its Upper Macungie terminal. Konecranes received an order for six rubber tired gantry cranes from GCT Canada Limited Partnership. The RTG cranes are bound for its GCT Deltaport facility in Port Metro Vancouver, Canada. Norfolk Southern Corp. will consolidate its Virginia and Pocahontas divisions effective Feb. 1, 2016 to form a new Pocahontas Division. The division headquarters will be in Roanoke, VA. Crowley Maritime Corp.'s liner services group is investing $25.5 million in new cargo carrying equipment in 2016. The units will include 325, 20-foot chassis; 500, 45-foot (102-inch wide) dry containers; 600 53-foot (102-inch wide) dry containers; 400, 53-foot chassis and 440 generator sets. Production of the 500 45-foot containers has already been completed by CIMC in China. CSX will develop a major freightrail intermodal terminal in Johnston County, N.C. The proposed "Carolina Connector" will serve as an intermodal transportation hub for the south. The project is contingent on securing infrastructure investment funds that have been proposed in the state's Strategic Transportation Investment process. C.R.
