The 50,000 dead-weight-ton, 330,000barrel-capacity Texas joins sister ship Ohio, christened by Crowley in November 2015. As part of its 2016 CDN$2.9 billion capital spending plan, Canadian National plans to invest in track infrastructure (CDN$1.5 billion), rolling stock (CDN$600 million) and implementation of positive train control technology on portions of its U.S. rail network. Love's Travel Stops has entered into an agreement to purchase Trillium CNG, a nationwide operator and developer of compressed natural gas fueling stations, adding 37 fueling stations to Love's 28 CNG locations. Maersk Line is preparing an awareness campaign to alert shippers to container weighing regulations that come into effect on Jul. 1. ALK Technologies, a Trimble Company, announced the latest addition to its suite of transportation solutions, PC*MILER|Rates. TRAC Intermodal and Gary Chilo, the founder of Blocking and Tackling LLC, have formed a joint venture to introduce the Intermodal Data Hub platform, a cloud-based Software as a Service, SaaS, which automates the chassis billing and reconciliation process between motor carriers and intermodal equipment providers. A new supplier partnership, including products from several brands, will allow trailer and truck components manufacturer SAFHolland to strengthen relationships with distributors in the Vipar Heavy Duty network. The Benjamin Franklin, the largest container ship to dock at a North American port, oﬃcially entered service for the first time in Long Beach following an inauguration ceremony for the 18,000 TEU vessel hosted by French shipping line CMA CGM.
