Mexican Rail and
Intermodal Leader
Emilio Sacristán
Roy Dies at 77
Emilio Sacristán Roy, a respected executive in the Mexican rail and intermodal industry, died Aug. 20 at the age of
77. His rail career started in 1993 when
he worked for the Mexican government
on the privatization of the Mexican
national railroad's locomotive shops.
Two years later, Sacristán was asked by
the president of Mexico to privatize the
national railroad, Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México.
He subsequently joined Alstom
Transporte SA de C.V. as vice president
and managing director until 2004. At
that time, Mexico's privatized railroads
selected him as executive director of the
newly formed Asociacion Mexicana de
Ferrocarriles AC.
His career included academic
positions at the National University of
Mexico and the National Institute of
Public Administration. A supporter of
intermodal, he was a board and faculty
member of the University of Denver's
Transportation Institute.

president
and general
manager -
intermodal,
succeeding
Kaiser. Brad
Thrasher has

been named
vice president and general manager -
agriculture products, succeeding Hess.
Kenny Rocker has been named vice
president and general manager - industrial products, succeeding Thrasher.
MercuryGate International, Inc. has
expanded its leadership team with the
appointment of key executive team
members: Carl Coe as chief operating
officer; Dan Graham as chief financial
officer; Chris Morhard as chief delivery
officer; Rajesh Ramchander as chief
technology officer; and Jeanne Bauer,
as vice president, human resources.
