ANTI-INTERFERENCE RECOGNITION FOR AERIAL INFRARED OBJECT BASED ON
CONVOLUTIONAL FEATURE INFERENCE NETWORK
The infrared decoy countermeasure technology develops along with the infrared imaging guidance
technology. The release of infrared decoys can block the object and destroy the integrity of the
object features. The traditional statistical approach based on feature fusion matching for pattern
recognition is not effective in handling this problem. To improve the characterization ability of
the invariant detail features in the infrared object domain and improve the classification accuracy
of the probability identification model, this article proposes an inference recognition model that
combines the convolutional features and the Bayesian network. The proposed model exploits the
convolutional neural network to extract the detailed feature information of the object in the infrared
image. Then, it uses the 2DPCANet screening mechanism to reduce the dimensionality and
select more obvious detailed information in the candidate region. Based on the combination of
human prior knowledge and posterior data, an infrared object recognition probability model is
established through the application of the Bayesian network. The performance of the proposed
algorithm is tested on the complex air combat simulation image dataset. The experimental results
indicate that the recognition rate of the proposed anti-interference recognition algorithm reaches
94.17%.
REVIEW OF TERAHERTZ ANTENNA TECHNOLOGY FOR SCIENCE MISSIONS IN SPACE
The utilization of terahertz (THz) band in the electromagnetic spectrum has great potential value
both in scientific research and practical applications, therefore reasonable design of antenna system
for radiating and receiving THz wave is especially critical. This article reviews the THz
antenna technology toward atmospheric remote sensing, radio astronomy, and deep space exploration
over the past three decades. Some typical scientific and engineering applications in space are
discussed, which include the specifications, design issues, and the performance of various space
THz antenna systems. Horn array antennas (synthetic aperture radiometry), reflector antennas fed
by quasi-optical networks and traditional microwave networks have been widely applied in the
designs for science missions. Finally, some promising THz antennas for future missions are introduced,
and viewpoints on research challenges and future directions are given.
DEFINING PHASED ARRAY BANDWIDTH
Phased arrays play an increasingly important role in communications and radar systems. These
systems require wideband signals to achieve the desired high-performance goals. A phased array's
bandwidth depends on much more than the bandwidth of its components. When designing phased
arrays, the traditional time-harmonic analysis methods do not capture all of the frequency performance
constraints imposed by the array architecture. Grating lobes limit the maximum element
spacing, while pulse/symbol dispersion and beam squint limit maximum array size and bandwidth.
Hardware frequency limits bound the operating bandwidth ofthe array. This article discusses timedependent
performance concerns of phased arrays that limit bandwidth, such as the constraints
imposed on scan angle, frequency bandwidth, beam squint, dispersion, and hardware.
