(20). Results of the installation angle errors Iu and Ic are
shown in Figures 13 and 14, respectively, when the roll
angle g changes from 0 to 2p rad. The mean value of
installation angle errors Iu and Ic are À7:797 Â 10À5 rad
and 0.0025 rad, respectively, and the standard variance of
installation error angles Iu and Ic are 1:127 Â 10À4 and
0.0002 rad, respectively.

EVALUATION OF CALIBRATION RESULTS
The role of the LDS is to calculate the laser unit vector L
and determine the relative relationship between the projectile and the target. In order to test the calibration accuracy of the installation angle errors Iu , Ic , Ig , and the
installation displacement errors Dy3 and Dz3 . The laser
unit vector L can be obtained from the following equation
by these parameters Iu , Ic , Ig , Dy3 , and Dz3 as

Then, the calibration accuracy of the installation errors
is evaluated by comparing the laser angles u and c with
reference values, which are obtained from the data before
and after the calibration. Taking the case of u ¼ 0:0000
rad,c ¼ 0:0026 rad as an example, the result of laser
angles u and c are shown in Figures 15 and 16, respectively. The direct calculation results of laser angles u and
c will change sinusoidally with the roll angle of the projectile in the condition that the LDS is not calibrated; And
if the LDS has been calibrated, the result of the laser
angles u and c will converge to the standard value. We
can find that the calibrated values match close to the reference value considered with the installation errors.

CONCLUSION
The measurement accuracy of the LDS with the PSD is
crucial in all the military applications, and hence it is of
great benefit to calibrate the LDS with the PSD before
use. This work mainly provides two contributions: first,
