The estimated altitude is determined by the closest position
calculated by the two sites. In Figure 16, the result is
hx (n2). In the case of three or more sites, the area of the
polygon formed by the position of each site is minimal.
The estimated altitude is calculated for each time t.
Figure 17 shows the altitude estimation results for
each timeframe (frames 1-3). The dotted line approximates
the estimation results. By drawing the approximate
line, the altitude can be obtained even when there are no
data for multiple sites.
However, these results have an average error of 7.6%

compared with the altitude measurement results from the
DoD radar. This error is caused by the difference in the
slant distance and the azimuth between the MRS and the
DoD radar. Taking these factors into consideration, the
difference can be reduced to 1.4%. To estimate the position
of the I/M, error values were tolerated up to 0.2 km
for the slant distance, and up to 1.5 for the azimuth, but
greater accuracy is needed for the altitude estimation.
Note that because the DoD radar also had slight errors,
quantitative tests are needed to determine the accuracy
more precisely.
Figure 18 shows the position of each site calculated
in (7). The I/M landed in the expected area, but the actual
