isolation between input ports is better than 20 dB at center
frequency. In Figure 5, dimensions of a conventional Wilkinson power combiner and the proposed combiner are
depicted for comparison. The area of the conventional
combiner and the proposed combiner are 28 Â 28(784)
cm2 and 3 Â 3 (9) cm2 respectively, so miniaturization factor of the combiner is about 98.8%.

CONCLUSION
In this paper, a miniaturized Wilkinson power combiner at
the VHF frequency band is proposed. The proposed structure
uses meandered microstrip and stripline in a stacked multilayer structure. The simulated and measured results were in
good agreement. Measured return loss better than 15 dB and
insertion loss less than 0.3 dB were achieved over 65 MHz
bandwidth. Also, isolation between input ports was better
than 25 dB at center frequency. The proposed power combiner has an area of 3 Â 3 cm2, which reduces the area of the
conventional Wilkinson power combiner by 98.8%.
