uncertain terms. Nevertheless, my reputation for telling the
unvarnished technical truth accurately and completely was
solidified at DoD. I love it. I love the drama and the tension
and the conflict and the sporting aspect of such meetings.

Yaakov: Any favorite type of food/restaurant?
Fred: Chocolate ice cream sundae with whipped cream
and walnuts at Steve's in Somerville; when it first opened the
lines were around the block (I am not joking); both the ice
cream and whipped cream were made at the store with very
high butterfat content, but debating burns lots of calories.
Reuben sandwich or corned beefon rye with halfsour pickle
and a side of onion rings or potato pancakes with sour
cream and chopped liver at Rein's Deli in Vernon.
Anything at Oleana in Cambridge. BBQ at Dale Blair's
pick north of Atlanta. Real Danish smorgasbord at the
O. Club in Thule Greenland. After that French, Italian,
Turkish, Greek, Indian, Chinese, Mexican, German cuisines
and food for thought at Chez Scheffe.
