gated in one Ethernet frame. We report in Figure 10 the BAF as a
function of the link identifier for the five flight phases. Each link
is identified with the two network elements that it interconnects.
In particular the results for the Ground Phase (GF), First Phase
(FP), Second Phase (SP), Third Phase (TP), and Fourth Phase
(FHP) are reported in Figures 10a, 10b, 10c, 10d, and 10e, respectively. We can observe how the worst performance is achieved
in the case of benchmark TTEthernet architecture in which all of
the messages are classified as TT. Obviously, this happens in the
links transmitting the highest number of VEGA messages, that is
the SW1-TMU, OBC-SW1, SW1-PDAU links in the FP, SP, TP,
and FHP and with the addition of GC-SW1 and SW1-GC in the

GP. We give some results for the link SW1-TMU that will tend to
be the most critical one when additional telemetry messages and
video flows are added. The BAF for the SW1-TMU in the GP is
equal to 25 Mbps, 4.11 Mbps, and 3.91 Mbps for the benchmark,
AATA (without AL) and AATA (with AL) architectures respectively. We can notice how the high number of TT messages in
benchmark architecture leads to high bandwidth waste due to the
TBIs inserted before every TT message. Conversely bandwidth
as low as 4 Mbps is consumed by the messages in the case of
AATA architecture. In future this low occupancy may allow for
the support of six 2 Mbps TRUs and five 8 Mbps video cameras
as reported in Figure 9. In fact, the addition of these terminals
