Safety and Reliability Challenges

Being real-time webinars, the session chair moderates
the talk, bridging Mconf and YouTube, to bring questions
from the global audience to the speaker. For the Q&A
procedure, the audience types its questions on YouTube
live chat. The moderator then collects these questions
from the chat and presents them to the lecturer, conducting the discussion in a meaningful way. Another
interesting possibility of bridging questions is that the
moderator can receive questions in any language and
then translate them to the speaker. The audience has
been quite active, and some of the CASS Talks have Q&A
sessions that last for more than 30 minutes.
The YouTube platform automatically records all CASS
Talks during streaming, including Q&A. These recordings are later reviewed, edited, and uploaded to the IEEE
CASS-RS YouTube channel by José Rodrigo Azambuja
(Chapter chair) and Raphael Brum (Chapter vice-chair),
with the help of Jean Victor Dall'oglio. Jean is an Electrical Engineering student cooperating with the project
and being partially financed by a UFRGS outreach program. The final version also receives introduction and
closing videos with CASS-RS visual identity. The upload
of the edited videos is a crucial part of our webinars, as
the Brazilian time zone, in which we schedule the webinars, might not work for part of our global audience.
Also, some people prefer watching the talks at a later
time. Tables II present past and upcoming CASS Talks

in 2020, respectively, streamed on YouTube. Figure 6
shows the flyers of CASS Talks in 2020.
III. Conclusions
The CASS Talks format changes improved the seminars
and engaged a broader, more extensive audience. YouTube,
Mconf, and editing tools enabled us to shift the face-to-face
meetings to virtual webinars. At the same time, a different
approach in publicizing the CASS Talks announcements allowed us to reach people and countries outside of Brazil
and R9. As a result, we now have a format capable of offering a broader range of talks in Circuits and System topics
to our PGMicro students and local industry and contribute
to disseminating science around the globe. Currently, CASS
Talks reaches a broad set of countries, including, but not
limited to, France, England, Italy, Spain, Russia, USA, Canada, Algeria, Portugal, Finland, Estonia, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Canada, Peru, Poland, Ireland,
UAE, Netherlands, Germany, Uruguay, and Switzerland.
We believe that these changes will remain long after
the COVID-19 pandemic ends. It has caused an important
paradigm shift, inspiring other IEEE chapters to follow
soon, such as the distinguished talks organized by the
IEEE SSCS-EDS South Brazil Chapter and the IEEE BEE
Talks organized by the IEEE Bordeaux Student Branch
and IMS-University of Bordeaux (Bordeaux, France). We
cannot simply go back to the previous only face-to-face
