the talks remain virtual, but attendants are encouraged

Ricardo Reis ((M'81-SM'06) received
the Electrical Engineering degree from
the Federal University of Rio Grande do
Sul (UFRGS), Porto Alegre, Brazil, in
1978, and the Ph.D. degree in informatics, option microelectronics from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, Grenoble,
France, in 1983. He has been a Full Professor with UFRGS
since 1981. He received the Doctor Honoris Causa from
the University of Montpellier, France, in 2016. He is research level 1A with the Brazilian National Science Foundation (CNPq), Brazil, and the head of several research
projects supported by government agencies and industry. He has published over 650 papers in journals and conference proceedings and has authored or co-authored
several books. His current research interests include
physical design, physical design automation, design
methodologies, digital design, EDA, circuits tolerant to radiation, and microelectronics education. He was a recipient of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) Meritorious Service Award in 2015. He received the Silver Core
award from IFIP. He was the Chair of the IFIP TC10. He was
the Vice-President of the IEEE CASS representing Region 9
(Latin America). He was president of Brazilian Computer
Society (SBC) for two terms and vice-president of the Brazilian Microelectronics Society. He is member of the IEEE

Raphael M. Brum (M'10) holds a Ph.D. in
Microelectronics from University of
Montpellier-UM, France (2014), a M.Sc.
degree in Microelectronics from UM
(2011) and a Computer Engineering Degree from Federal University of Rio
Grande do Sul-UFRGS, Porto Alegre, Brazil (2007). He is
currently an Associate Professor at the Electrical Engineering Department, School of Engineering, UFRGS. His current
research interests lie in the field of VLSI design and design
automation tools, more specifically in non-volatile memory
design, compact modeling and co-simulation of emerging
non-volatile memristive devices, such as Magnetic Tunnel
Junctions and Resistive RAMs. Raphael serves as vicechair of the IEEE CASS Rio Grande do Sul Chapter since
2018. Through this role, he is engaged in the promotion of
scientific interaction and popularization of science, helping
local academic institutions to make their achievements
known by a broader audience. Prior following the academic
path, Raphael was a Research and Development Engineer
in the field of Electronic Design Automation (EDA).
José Rodrigo Azambuja received his
PhD degree (summa cum laude) in Electrical Engineering, from the Karlsruhe
Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany,
and Computer Science, from the Federal
University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS),
Brazil, in 2013, and Computer Science MSc and Computer Engineering bachelor degrees from UFRGS, in 2010
and 2007, respectively. He is currently a Professor at
UFRGS (Brazil) and postgraduate programs PGMICRO
and PPGC. He has authored over 50 peer reviewed articles in the field of design for reliability, including the
book entitled " Hybrid Fault Tolerance Techniques to Detect Transient Faults in Embedded Processors. " His research interests include hardware description languages, networks on chip and manycore systems, fault
tolerance, and design for testability and reliability. Professor Azambuja is a Senior Member of IEEE and Chair of
the CASS Rio Grande do Sul Chapter.
