and Frugal Spectrum Sensing covering 220 nos. of research publications. Dr. Sanyal is a Senior Member of
IEEE. He was the Chair of IEEE Kolkata Section during
2006-2008 and also the Chair of CAS Chapter of IEEE Kolkata Section during 2011-2017. He was instrumental in
forming the CAS Chapter under IEEE Kolkata Section and
was also the key person in promoting Joint Network
Meeting at Kolkata in 2015 between the CAS Chapters of
IEEE Singapore and Kolkata Sections. He is the advisor of
several CAS Chapter Student Branches in Kolkata.
M. N. S. Swamy
M. N. S. Swamy received the Ph.D. degrees in EE from the University of
Saskatchewan, Canada. He was conferred in 2009 the title of Honorary
Professor at National Chiao Tong University in Taiwan. He is presently a

Research Professor and holds the Concordia Chair in
Signal Processing in the Department of Electrical and
Computer Engineering at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, where he served as the Founding Chair
of the EE Department from 1970 to 1977, and Dean of
Engineering and Computer Science from 1977 to 1993.
He has published extensively in the areas of circuits,
systems and signal processing. He is the coauthor of
nine books and holds five patents. Dr. Swamy is a Fellow of many societies including IEEE. He has served
the IEEE in various capacities such as the President in
2004, Vice President during 2001-2002, and in 1976,
E.I.C of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON CAS-I, Program
Chair for the 1973 IEEE CAS Symposium, General Chair
for the 1984 IEEE CAS Symposium, He is the recipient
of many IEEE-CAS Society awards, including the Education Award, Golden Jubilee Medal, and the Guillemin-Cauer Best Paper Award.
