devices, spaceship and submarine equipment.
On the other hand, rapid development of microelectronics
triggered the design and implementation of film and
semiconductor technologies to fabricate novel low-power
TEGs for energy sources of portable, airborne and mobile
hardware described below.

The recent research based on the results of Ioffe's scientific
group are further developed by academic institutions
and universities. Several research projects are
carried out by the members of IEEE CASS Chapter, St. Petersburg
at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic
University aimed at developing TEGs to monitor objects
state. The structure of gas
turbine aviation engine based on
wireless data transfer from autonomous
sensors is presented in
Fig. 5 as an example. Power supply
of sensor units is carried out
by means of TEGs.
General structure of an autonomous
monitoring sensor node is
presented in Fig. 6. It includes the
radio frequency transmitter-receiver
and its own sensor powered by a
system-on-package energy harvester
based on thermoelectric generator
and DC/DC voltage converter.
TEGs can be classified into two
manufactured types: bulk and
thin-film devices. Thin-film TEGs
are generally manufactured using
