expanding non-promising regions ofsearch space to help the population
escape local optima will be designed. Further experiments to
investigate the performance ofGP4DFs and the effectiveness ofthe
optimal DFs identified, will be executed. Well-known meta-heuristics,
e.g., Differential Evolution, CMA-ES, FST-PSO, will be
executed with and without the dilations ofthe search space identified
by GP4DFs on different optimization problems, to thoroughly
assess the actual improvements that can be obtained. Finally, the
presented approach will be applied to real-world problems, including
engineering, medical, and biological applications to corroborate
its performance in real-world scenarios.
