As previously mentioned, we made improvements with the
help of the ECHA algorithm for efficiently selecting the controller to send a request to the distributed blockchain-based
network infrastructure. The high availability of resources in a
distributed nature enables a shorter execution time to offload
the IoT device's data to the data center of applications running
at the edge of the network.
conclusion
In this article, we proposed a scalable, distributed smart-city
architecture to meet the design principles required for efficiently
satisfying the new service requirements for a sustainable smart
city. The modulation scheme enhanced the system throughput
and avoided the single-color interference compared to the OOK
and OFDM modulation schemes, and it may support multiaccess using orthogonal modulation code for each device. Furthermore, compared to the core network architecture, the
evaluation results demonstrate that the proposed distributed
blockchain network architecture model using the controller-hopping algorithm significantly reduces end-to-end delay and
response time and increases throughput in the core of the smartcity network to facilitate the provision of the required services.
Although our work considers diverse issues concerning challenges inherent in a smart city, persistent challenges such as the
efficient deployment of SDN controller nodes to the distributed
blockchain network architecture, deployment of cache node, and
filtering of raw data at the edge of the network for context-aware
services are attractive avenues for future research. As part of our
future work, we will extend the infrastructure to build an
energy-efficient fog/edge computing architecture at the
edge of the smart city network, taking into account such persistent challenges.
