hat I am offering is not
quite a virtual reality experience, but I am attempting
to give you the next best
thing to being there. Those of us
involved in IEEE Consumer Electronics
(CE) Society conference activities are
well aware that working for a living
and attending all CE Society events is
just not feasible. In an attempt to
reduce costs and ease the ability to participate, 2014 CE Society President
Stefan Mozar and 2014 VP of Conferences Stephen Dukes have worked hard
over the last few years to vastly expand
the geographic locations and scope of
the subject matter of Society-sponsored
conferences. We continue to produce
our flagship IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE)
in January aligned with the Consumer
Electronics Association's International
Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
Continuing with the successful
ICCE model of aligning a technical
conference with a global CE industry
event, we have leveraged the ICCE
brand, resulting in geographically dispersed events including:
▼ 2015 ICCE-USA, Las Vegas
▼ 2015 ICCE-China, Shenzhen
▼ 2015 ICCE-Taiwan, Taipei
▼ 2015 ICCE-Berlin, Germany.
In addition to the ICCE model or
alignment with other CE industry
events, we also offer specialized standalone conferences with equal geographic and subject matter diversity:

Even with these expanded conference
offerings, we are aware that cost and
work demands may still limit our members' ability to participate in our conferences. Fortunately, we are blessed with
the support from The St. Petersburg State
University of Film and Television under
the leadership of Konstantin Glasman,
head of the Video Systems Department.
Glasman and his crew make an annual
pilgrimage from Russia to Las Vegas and
capture video highlights of the January
ICCE and other selected CE Society conferences. So, while it may be one step
below the state of the art of virtual reality,
