A Look at
CE Society Publications

f you are reading this article, you are
already aware that we publish our
excellent IEEE Consumer Electronics
Magazine. However, you may not be
aware that your IEEE Consumer Electronics (CE) Society membership entitles
you to electronic access via IEEE Xplore
to the content of many other CE Societysponsored publications.
The purpose of this new column is to
make you aware of these additional publications and to keep you updated on news
and activities in this area. As you will see,
access to some of these publications is
included in your basic dues while other
publications are available for an additional
subscription fee, discounted for CE Society members. Additional information
about subscription prices and the scope of
coverage of these publications is posted
online at http://pubs.ieee-cesoc.org.

CE SOC WORLD-
THE CE SOCIETY eZInE
Before the introduction of IEEE Consumer Electronics Magazine, most Society news was delivered in a newsletter.
After the transition to a full magazine,
we felt that there was a need for a more
regular update on Society events, activities, and general news/communications
with our members. Thus, at the end of
each month, we e-mail our eZine, CE
Soc World, to all of our members.
This e-mail eZine features the table
of contents of our flagship publications,
our conference schedule, and general
information about Society activities. The

main purpose of CE Soc World is to
make you aware of content published in
our flagship publications in the event
you find something of interest you want
to retrieve from IEEE Xplore. It also carries announcements, calls for papers,
and other timely messages we wish to
communicate to our Society Members.
As vice president of publications, I currently run and manage CE Soc World. Please

or announcements to our membership.

The IEEE CE Society has two flagship
publications that Members have unlimited electronic access to via IEEE Xplore.

IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON
CONSUMER ELECTRONICS
IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics (T-CE) publishes four issues per
year on the latest research in the field
of CE applicable to the scope of the

journal. However, the May issue is
reserved for enhanced papers that
authors have submitted from those presented at the annual IEEE International
Conference on Consumer Electronics.
Enhanced papers from other IEEE CE
Society conferences may be submitted
at any time. Authors of enhanced conference papers are required to cite their
actual conference paper in their
enhanced T-CE paper to specifically
explain the further contributions made
in the enhanced paper compared to the
conference paper.
Timeliness of the dissemination of
technical papers is of paramount concern
in the ever-changing environment of CE.
T-CE also has the fastest submission to
e-publication time in the IEEE for nonletters. Previous issues of the T-CE can be
accessed via IEEE Xplore.
The latest (2014) impact factor for
this journal is 1.157. The acceptance
ratio is currently 15%, and the average
delay from submission to posting on
IEEE Xplore is four months. The scope
of T-CE is "The engineering and research
aspects of the theory, design, construction,
manufacture or end use of mass market
electronics, systems, software and services
for consumers."
This journal includes IEEE openaccess. Open access details are sent to
authors who have had their papers
accepted. Authors should note that the
submission deadlines are 1 January (for
the February issue), 1 April (for the May
issue), 1 July (for the August issue), and
1 October (for the November issue),
although papers can be submitted at
any time.
