connecting these devices to the Internet. The Bluetooth Special
Interest Group has just published a pair of RESTful APIs. These
APIs, implemented in a gateway, can allow an Internet client
application to find, connect, and operate Bluetooth Smart
servers: sensors and effectors.
Title: "Bluetooth Support for IoT using 6LoBTLE"
Abstract: The IoT is the latest technical problem and
opportunity. At this time, there is no single standard; there
are at least 150 companies and alliances all proposing to tell
us how this will work. The CEO of Samsung is correct: none
of us can do this alone. This presentation will describe a
particular plan for organizing the IoT space: using IP Smart
Object application over a stack including IPv6, 6LoBTLE,
Internet Protocol Support Profile (IPSP) and the Bluetooth
Smart (Bluetooth Low Energy) transport.

Biography
Michael Isnardi is a senior principal research scientist in SRI
International's Center for Vision Technologies where he has
worked since 1986. His early work included development of
the DIRECTV system and Sarnoff Corporation's Compliance
Bitstreams product, which received a technical Emmy award
in 1999. His recent work includes development of congestion
management, salience-based compression, digital holography
algorithms, and CS technologies for imaging and video
applications. He received the David Sarnoff Award and the
IEEE CE Society Third Millennium Medal. His professional
memberships include SMPTE and IEEE. He serves on the
Technical Program Committee (TPC) for the IEEE International
Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE). He has given
numerous papers and tutorials on digital television at
industry events.
Title: "Compressive Sensing: Theory and Potential Applications
in Consumer Electronics"
Abstract: Compressive sensing (CS) is a relatively new
mathematical framework that can recover a signal with
far fewer measurements than predicted by its bandwidth.
Rather than sample a signal at a high rate, only to later
discard most of the data by compressing them, CS performs
sampling and compression in a single step. In essence,
the number of measurements is matched to the signal's
information content. Recovery of the signal is performed
by an optimization technique. This talk will cover the
motivation and theory behind CS and the attributes that a
signal and a sensing matrix must have for CS to work well.
Finally, we will review some recent results in which CS is
applied in CE applications.

Stefan Mozar

Biography
Stefan Mozar is an adjunct professor
at Guangdong University of Technology, Guangdong, China.
He is also the CEO of Dynexsys, Sydney, Australia. He earned
his engineering degrees from the University of New South
Wales in Sydney, Australia, and his M.B.A. degree from UTS.
He is a fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Australia, and a
chartered professional engineer in Australia. He has extensive
experience in industry and academia. His work has resulted
in inventions, patents, and publications, and he has worked
on projects that have won 28 international design awards. In
Region 10, he has lived and worked in Australia, China, Hong
Kong, and Singapore. He has also worked on projects in India,
Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. He has received
many teaching awards and two best paper awards. He is a
Senior Member of the IEEE.

addresses the greenness of a number of consumer products.

Abstract: This presentation provides an overview of project
management such as work breakdown structure, PERT and
critical path identification, float calculations, and financial
