This article describes the current
status of the CRFID based on main
activities held in April 2015.

CRFID
The establishment of CRFID was
recently approved by IEEE (16 June
2015). The purpose of the council is to
advance and coordinate work in the field
of RFID carried throughout the IEEE in
scientific, literary, and educational
forms. I attended the CRFID annual
face-to-face meeting, preceded by the
RFID annual Technical Conference (9th
year), and the annual RFID Journal Live
Exposition (13th year.). All three events
were held in mid-April 2015, around the
San Diego Convention Center.

CRFID annual MeetIng
The annual face-to-face meeting of the
RFID Committee was held on 18 April
2015, in San Diego the day after the successful RFID Conference and the RFID
Journal Live Exhibition and Symposium.
The latter two events were held at the San
Diego Convention Center. Attended by
all Society representatives or their alternates, IEEE staff, and other Division
Reps, many actions were carried out for
this council in formation, based on preposted documents, including

The CRFID is setting a very constructive model for multidisciplinary
communities working together within
the IEEE. It has attracted 12 Societies
with an annual financial commitment of
US$5000 each. The financial report is
projected at US$9,000 in 2015, a
US$42,000 surplus for 2016, and a
steady, solid five-year financial plan.
CRFID is the first organization under

uGrokit's display at RFID Journal Live 2015-illustrating a colorful, lively RFID usage and
inventory resolution.
