IEEE GRSS Delhi Chapter
INTRODUCTION
he IEEE GRSS Delhi chapter was formed on the 8th
February 2012. The chapter executive committee

ACTIvITIes IN 2012
The chapter has organized many lectures including the
following ones. The first Lecture was delivered by Prof.
B.N Basu on 1st of March 2012, and covered the Microwave Tubes Development Scenario in India, TravellingWave Tube-No More a Slow-Wave Tube and Gyro-De-
vice-No More a Fast-Wave Device and Circuit Theory
Equivalents of Electromagnetic Theory.
Another activity, on 16 March 2012, included the visit by nearly 50 students to the ICRS lab, where they were
given a lecture on the importance of remote sensing for
the society. The students learnt different aspects of remote sensing that include hardware applications such
as antenna design and radiometry, and they were told
about undergoing project son soil moisture and ocean
salinity mapping, as well as planetary sciences.
Additionally, a lecture and quiz was organized on 28
March 2012. The lecture was given by Prof. OPN Calla
on "India's first Moon Mission - CHANDRAYAAN-I".
A documentary which depicted how the satellite works
and how the data is retrieved for the analysis was shown
to the students.
Finally, on 11 Dec. 2012 the 3rd IEEE GRSS Meet
was organized during ICMARS-2012. The meeting was
attended by 15 GRSS members. Prof. Kamal Sarabandi,
GRSS Vice President of Professional Activities inaugurated the meeting.
