choosing the Landsat Project, the Landsat 4-5 missions,
the Image Classification technique and no specific dates.

The user can then refine his/her search by specifying year,
month and/or geographical area.
Figures 9 and 10 then show one particular Landsat 5
scene of the Chesapeake Bay area in April 1991. On the
right side of the thumbnail is a list of basic metadata and
information corresponding to the scene, such as size, format, acquisition time, etc. This listing also contains a link
to the 1K by 1K sub-image extracted from the scene. At the
bottom of the page, truth datasets associated with the scene
are listed; here the NLDC classification map and the cloud
mask, followed by a pie chart and a histogram showing the
class distribution in the given scene. Finally, all individual
bands are shown and available for individual download or
for adding to the cart.
When clicking on the NLCD and cloud mask thumbnails, information about these truth datasets and other
scenes to which they apply are displayed: see Figure 11 for
the information related to NLCD.
Then, if the user selects to download the data by using a
cart and creating an account, Figure 12 shows a display of a
cart containing the Landsat scene along with the associated
NLCD map and cloud mask. These three data files are then
downloaded with one large zip file.
Finally, as described in Section III.C, students and citizen
scientists may use the IMAGESEER website for its Education
section. Currently, the section contains very few articles, but
we hope that overtime, additional material will be proposed
by our collaborators and that this collection will include
introductory material as well as in-depth articles and potentially lesson plans and NASA challenges and solutions. Figure 13 shows examples of material currently available.
