KEEPING UP
WITH TECHNOLOGY

The IEEE Xplore Digital
Library has made available articles and standards
that can help researchers understand and manage different aspects of the
COVID-19 pandemic, including technologies that can
be leveraged to combat it.
All the content in the collection gives additional
rights for all types of reuse,
including full text and
data mining and analysis.
The IEEE Standards
Association's Access Standards program provides
no-cost public access to
relevant IEEE standards
used by technologists, engineers, scientists, manufacturers, and others.

IEEE Educational Activities hosts webinars-on
5G, autonomous vehicles,
distance learning, and
more-which are available on demand.
The IEEE Learning Network, a centralized website, provides
access to more than
700 courses, webinars,
and eLearning programs.
Several IEEE societies
are offering their members
free access to materials.
They include the Broadcast
Technology, Communications, Computer, Electronics Packaging, Power
Electronics, and SolidState Circuits societies. The
content includes lectures,
short courses, and webinars on a variety of topics.
NETWORKING
OPPORTUNITIES

The IEEE Mobile App lets
IEEE leaders, volunteers, and
members engage and connect
with all things IEEE. It can be
personalized, allowing users
to choose how they want to
engage and connect with not
only the organization but
also with other members.

The app lets you locate
members by location,
interests, and affiliations.
In addition, you can join
meetups virtually, read your
IEEE magazines, and stay
up to date with the latest
news.
IEEE Collabratec
provides engineers
with virtual workspaces
where they can create,
organize, and share ideas
on projects with one
another for free as they
work remotely. Users have
built several workspaces
on COVID-19 research,
policies, and ideas with a
specific technical focus.
CAREER
RESOURCES

IEEE-USA's entire collection of e-books and audiobooks is available at no
charge to all members and
student members. The
books cover topics such as
how to become a mentor,
tips for graduating college
students, and public
speaking for engineers.
IEEE-USA also is offering on-demand webinars to help members
hone their skills, assess
their personal value
and brand, and gain a
competitive advantage in
the workplace.

PREUNIVERSITY
EDUCATION

IEEE's TryEngineering
website-aimed at students
and their parents and
teachers-features
information on what
it takes to become an
engineer. Users can read
about engineers' work
experiences, access lesson
plans that feature hands-on
experiments, and play
games that demonstrate
what engineers do.
There is also an
eLearning resources page,
which has free, curated
tools available to support
teachers and parents.
The IEEE History
Center's Raising
Engineering Awareness
Through the Conduit of
History program provides
free online educational
resources for preuniversity
students. The program
focuses on technology's
impact on society, culture,
politics, and economics.
The resources include
lesson plans, hands-on
activities, multimedia
presentations, and primary
resource materials-which
can be particularly useful
for educators, parents,
and others during these
times of distance learning.
