Chapter 5 introduces the SDR implementation of a transmitter and a receiver.
The authors state the hardware requirements and what microprocessors can

Research LLC, module USRP 1 and 2.
The author focuses on software architecture development based on simulation through MATLAB and Simulink.
This chapter includes an open-ended
design project for an automatic frequency offset compensator. The author
points out many ready-to-use built-in
packages within MATLAB to speed up
the design process. Using theory introduced in Chapter 4, Chapter 6 proceeds
to the design, building, and implementation of matched filter and correlatorbased software defense receivers. At the
end of this chapter, another open-ended
design project is introduced for frame
synchronization. Thus far, all discussions have focused on single-carrier
modulation schemes. In Chapter 7, the
author introduces multicarrier modulation and duplex communications,
