During the third week, Curtis Mayberry
(Skyworks Solutions) introduced
the Cascode Labs (https://www.cas
code-labs.org) open source packages
Virtue and Softworks, while Fatemeh
Abbassi (SAL) onboarded student
participants in basic AnalogBase
methods, which are part of the
second BAG2 layout engine being
covered during the bootcamp (Figure
5). Martin Jan Köhler (SAL) held
a workshop on using BAG2 AnalogBase
with the new software abstractions
to automate some steps of
the workflow.

experiences with using BAG2 for his
Ph.D. work, including an introduction
to TheSyDeKick (The System
Development Kit), a framework made
for SoC development (https://github.
com/TheSystemDevelopmentKit) at
Aalto University. The University of
California Berkeley sixth-year Ph.D.
candidate Zhaokai Liu talked about
improvements from BAG2 to BAG3.

presenting BAG 3.0 advantages and
upgrades, specifically novel measurement
features that helped him
to design circuits for a 160-Gbps
NRZ transceiver for very short reach
(Figure 6). All organized talks and
workshops previously announced at
LinkedIn were recorded and shared
with the community through a newly
opened MOSAIC YouTube channel

the spirit of open source, all presentations
have been made available
in the MOSAIC GitLab bootcamp
