Attend the CEDA Distinguished
Speaker Luncheon at DAC 2022
Each year, the CEDA invites experts
in EDA to present to Design Automation
Conference (DAC) attendees.
This year's CEDA Distinguished
Speaker Luncheon is presented by
Xiaobo Sharon Hu of the University
of Notre Dame. The presentation
will be held on 12 July from 12 to
2:30 PT.
Her presentation will be about
data transfer between processors
and memory, which is a major bottleneck
in improving application performance
on traditional computing
hardware. This talk will showcase
several representative cross-layer,
internal model control-based design

Ph.D. Forum at DAC 2022
The Ph.D. Forum at DAC is a poster
session hosted by the Association
for Computing Machinery Special
Interest Group on Design Automation
and IEEE CEDA for Ph.D. students
to present and discuss their
dissertation research with people in
the EDA community. It has become

one of the premier forums for Ph.D.
students in design automation to
receive feedback on their research,
and to connect with other members
of the community. It also enables
both academicians and industry to
see the best graduating students in
one place.
Presentations are selected through
a scientific evaluation by an expert
committee consisting of academia
and industry. The forum is open to all
members of the design automation
community and is free of charge. It is
colocated with DAC, but a DAC registration
is not required to attend this

The Phil Kaufman Award for Distinguished
Contributions to Electronic
Design Automation is jointly
sponsored by the Electronic System
Design Alliance and the CEDA and
honors an individual who has had
a demonstrable impact on the field
of electronic design through contributions
in EDA. Nominations are
accepted on a rolling basis.
The Distinguished Service Award
recognizes an individual who has
provided outstanding service to the
IEEE Council that has had a significant
benefit to the EDA community.
2022 IEEE TCAD Donald O. Pederson
Best Paper Award Winners
The IEEE Transactions on ComputerAided
Design Donald O. Pederson Best
Paper Award is sponsored by the IEEE
Council on EDA and recognizes the
best paper published in IEEE Transactions
on Computer-Aided Design of
Integrated Circuits and Systems.
The award is based on the overall
quality, originality, level of contribution,
subject matter, and timeliness
of the research. Anyone who
is an author of a paper published
in IEEE Transactions on ComputerAided
Design of Integrated Circuits
and Systems during the two calendar
years preceding the award is eligible
for nomination.
Congratulations to authors, Bon
Woong Ku, Kyungwook Chang, and
Sung Kyu Lim, for their paper " Compact-2-D:
A Physical Design Methodology
to Build Two-Tier Gate-Level 3-D
ICs. " Their paper was published in
IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided
Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems
(vol. 39, no. 6, June 2020).
CAD for Assurance Webinar:

The CAD for Assurance webinar series
is an educational initiative that provides
CEDA members with access to
relevant CAD tools to use. This includes
information on major CAD tools the
research community has developed
over the past decade, in cluding open
source, license-free, or ready-for-licensing
tools, associated metrics, relevant
publications, and video demos.
The series will continue on 10 June
2022 with the panel presentation
