Highlights From ISSCC 2021
T
The 2021 International Solid-State
Circuits Conference (ISSCC) looked a
little bit different this year. Due to the
COVID-19 pandemic, the conference
was held virtually on 13-22 February
2021 and was jam packed with a wide
array of forums, technical and tutorial
presentations, short courses, an
exciting plenary session, and opportunities
to network virtually with
leading experts in the field.
ISSCC 2021 was held on a virtual
platform called Underline, which
allowed attendees to move from session
to session using their avatar.
The attendees were able to see each

other on video, visit book publishers,
and even ask questions during
the sessions.
The chair of ISSCC 2021 was Kevin
Zhang, from Taiwan Semiconductor
Manufacturing Company (TSMC),
Hsinchu, Taiwan. The 2021 program
chair was Makoto Ikeda, from the
University of Tokyo, Japan.
Plenary and Awards Session
The 2021 plenary session featured
four distinguished speakers:
