Prof. Azad J. Naeemi (Georgia Tech),
who received the IEEE SSCS Innovative
Education Award and James D.
Meindl Innovators Award in 2022,
respectively. For graduate and undergraduate
students, learning and
researching are two key tasks. For
junior graduate students, acquiring
a good habit and concept of learning
and researching can sow the seeds
of the future and pave the way to
career success. The speakers shared
their valuable visions for boosting
learning and research experiences.
After sharing their expertise, they
also took the audience's questions.
The webinar was moderated by WYE
Coordinators Taeyoung Kim (Intel)
and Divya Akella (NVIDIA).
The latest WYE edition, " Transforming
Academic Research into Commercial
Venture, " was held on 21 April
2023. It featured Prof. Harish Krishnaswamy
(Columbia University) and
Benton Calhoun (University of Virginia),
who are seasoned academics with
successful experiences turning their
research in solid-state circuits into
valuable products. Moving ideas from
lab and research papers to the market
requires a thorough decision-making
process, market research, time management,
and all of the tool sets that
are beyond what can be imagined.
In this webinar, the two speakers
shared their personal journeys and
insights on how research work can
be effectively commercialized and
promoted. After sharing their expertise,
they also took the audience's
questions. The event was moderated
by WYE Coordinator Xiyuan Tang (Peking
University).
