output powers at frequencies beyond
the fmax of CMOS technology, and two
key applications of terahertz radiation. He also mentioned that the significance of terahertz in CMOS is that
it acts as an enabler of integrated
chips that realize large-scale consumer and industrial applications
in sensing, imaging, and high-speed
communications.

naert discussed emerging applications of terahertz in chemical sensing as well as industrial applications,
such as measuring surface smoothness, coating thickness, and so on.
However, he alluded to the fact that
more research and development
must occur to help this technology
grow for industrial deployment. The
attendees were excited to see niche
applications made possible by terahertz in CMOS.
