IEEE SSCS Offers Awards to Recognize and
Distinguish Members

The IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society
(SSCS) recognizes distinguished members through the following awards.
Deadlines for nominations are provided for each award.

IEEE Brokaw Award for
-Circuit -Elegance
The IEEE Brokaw Award for Circuit
Elegance, which honors the legacy
and contributions of Paul Brokaw,
was established in 2018. This award
was created to enhance the appreciation of, and encourage innovation
for, simple, smart, and elegant circuit design. The award is presented
in recognition of a unique, innovative, simple, smart, and elegant circuit design that was created during
the past decade and demonstrated
its viability. This is an annual award,
and up to three designs may be recognized during a single year. Eligible
candidates must be SSCS members
in good standing. Self-nominations
are permitted. Each winning design
will receive a US$10,000 cash prize
and up to US$5,000 for the designer
to travel to attend the International
Solid-State Circuits Conference in the
year of the award presentation. If more
than one individual is responsible for
the design, the cash prize will be split
evenly among the designers. Nominations must be received during the
year prior to the year the award is presented. The deadline for -submissions
is 15 October. The winner(s) will

be notified by 1 December prior
to the year the award is presented.

IEEE SSCS New Frontier Award
The IEEE SSCS New Frontier Award
was established in 2019. It recognizes
and honors SSCS members who are in
their early career and exploring innovative and visionary technical work
within the field of solid-state circuits. The award aims to emphasize
pioneering developments that are at
the frontiers of IC design or possess
an imminent potential to expand
the field through new categories of
circuit technologies, system design,
and/or emerging applications. Those
who receive this award must be current SSCS members in good standing and have received their highest
degree (bachelor's or higher) within
10 years of the award's application
deadline. This award will be given
annually to one winner but only if
a suitable candidate is identified.
The winner will receive a plaque and
an honorarium of US$5,000. Award
nominations will be accepted during
the year prior to the year the award
is presented. The deadline for nominations is 30 September. The winner
will be notified by 1 December in the
year prior to the year the award is to
be p
- resented. This award will be presented at the plenary session of one

of the SSCS's financially sponsored
conferences, at the choice of the

IEEE SSCS Innovative
Education Award
Established in 2019, the IEEE SSCS Innovative Education Award recognizes
and honors SSCS members in their
early/midcareer who are making
significant contributions to education in the field of solid-state circuits
through pioneering approaches. The
award aims to highlight distinguished
and unique methods and programs
that have a broad impact on the education of our community. Those who
receive this award must be current
SSCS members in good standing.
This award will be given annually
to one winner but only if a suitable
nominee is identified. The winner
will receive a plaque and an honorarium of US$5,000. Award nominations
will be accepted during the year prior
to the year the award is to be presented. The deadline for nominations is
30 September. The winner will be notified by 1 December in the year prior
to the year the award is to be presented. This award will be presented
at the plenary session of one of the
SSCS's financially sponsored conferences, at the choice of the recipient.
