learning (ML) have been widely
employed in various applications,
including image recognition and
natural language processing such
as audio transcription and big data
processing, including web searching.
Technology scaling enables power reduction
per unit function. On the other
hand, AI and other computational
demands are expected to increase
dramatically, and by 2050, power
consumption is expected to exceed
500 times the current level. To cope
with this situation, domain-specific
accelerator designs are highly demanded
in various application fields,
including blockchain for mining of
cryptocurrency; encryption, not only
the current crypto algorithms like
AES, but also postquantum crypto
algorithms and fully homomorphic
crypto algorithms; and ML, including
generative AI.
