papers achieve a high impact. Scientific

funded research must often be published
in fully open access journals
to maximizing the impact of this publication.
In view of this, and thanks to
the sponsorship of the SSCS, several
top experts from the solid-state circuits
community have been invited
to write articles for OJ-SSCS. Fifteen
of these papers appeared in the first
volume. They included original contributions
and review papers with
an appeal to a broad audience. On
top of this, two special sections were
launched in 2021. Articles belonging
to the first, " Electronic-Photonic
Integrated Circuits, " have been published.
The second special section,
" Imagers for 3D Vision, " will appear
in the 2022 volume.
OJ-SSCS editors aim to foster the
publication of high-quality research
relevant to the solid-state circuits
community in current and emerging
fields. For this reason, besides the

In other words, we read
the true value of a bit that was
stored as true, and we read the
complement value of a bit that
was complemented at the time
of writing. The act of double
complementing will produce the
original intended stored bit.
4) The storage capacitor (or rather
its dielectric) will experience an
asymmetric electric field stress
for stored 1 and 0. The capacitor
will experience a voltage of 1V
for stored 1 and 0V for stored 0.
To remove this asymmetry and to
reduce the peak stress on the dielectric,
we simply connect the capacitor
plate to (/ ),V12 dd
instead
of ground. The reader can verify
that this simple change will have
no impact on the memory operations
we have described but will
reduce the peak voltage stress on
the capacitor by a factor of 2.
In summary, a 1T1C cell uses a
single transistor and a single capacitor
to create one of the most used
circuits in the world of electronics.
A row of simple SAs, each consisting
of two back-to-back inverters
and two switches to connect them
to power supply and ground, read
the stored data from a row of cells
and restore (and refresh) them back
automatically into the cells.
