FIG 2 PELS SBCs offer opportunities to network with colleagues and share expertise. share expertise through technical exchange (FIG 2). PELS provides several resources for its SBCs. For example, operational funding to support activities and the Distinguished Lecturer (DL) program. Moreover, PELS also recognizes excellent service by a PELS SBC every year by presenting the Best SBC Award. The students' sub-committee has also taken several steps to foster regional collaboration among PELS SBCs. As a pilot initiative, Brazilian SBCs created the group named PELS National Activity Brazil. In celebration of the PELS Day 2020, this team organized the PELS DL lecture online seminar, a full day event with virtual DLs. The event had over thousand attendees and was a grand success. The sub-committee plans to start similar initiatives in other countries as well. The PELS SYP committee is targeting the creation of new SBCs or regular chapters in underrepresented countries and regions. PELS is committed to foster diversity and inclusion, and is always looking for motivated young volunteers from different regions.
