Nulle Servo Drive (LNSD system,
where the models created in MATLAB/
Simulink software can be tested in
real-world situations, and successful
results can be obtained in just a
few minutes. Two case studies are
presented to hypothesize the effects
of the LNSD drive. The first study
tested automatic control of variable
speed synchronous servo motor, and
the second study tested the novel
model predictive control for faulttolerant
synchronous servo motor.
As per the article, the LNSD drive,
along with the MATLAB/Simulink
software, can be beneficial in testing
real-life applications such as clearing
faults in milliseconds that occur in
satellites, high-speed trains, and electric
vehicles.
Likewise, in the fourth article " Practical
Considerations for Design and
Layout of High Power Digital PCBs "
author Mikhail Guz discusses practical
aspects of reliably powering
complex multilayer digital printed
circuit boards (PCBs) from high-energy
sources. He argues that tradeoffs
are required to make functional and
reliable boards. According to the author,
to make reliable boards, multiple
challenges must be addressed
in a methodical fashion by multidisciplinary
teams. These challenges include
circuit protection, PCB layout,
horizontal and vertical PCB spacing,
and proper guard banding need to
be augmented by rigorous qualification
of PCB vendors, inspections of
base materials and finished products,
utilization of test coupons, and electrical
tests.

Silicon Battery Technology and Power
Electronics Based Energy Conversion "

Hahn, Helge Krüger, Felix Hoffmann,
Markus Andresen, Rainer Adelung,
and Marco Liserre, Kiel University,
Kiel, Germany, reviews how silicon
anodes could be used in future Lithium-ion
(Li-ion) or Li sulfur batteries
to provide high energy density with
the possibility to charge batteries
with higher current densities and faster
charging times.
