PROPOSALS SELECTION CRITERIA FOR FUNDING Here are some criteria that will increase the likelihood of being selected: * Quality, innovation and creativity balanced by the project's likelihood of success * Merit of the proposal to meet a clearly defined need of engineers and technology professionals working in industry * Has a plan for successful completion of the project that is clear and realistic * Project is scalable and broad enough to make an impact on the larger IEEE organization * The application includes a plan to effectively measure success * Project Leader has expertise to conduct project KEY DATES FOR 2015 Deliverables Call for Proposals- Open Due Dates Now Call for Proposals- Closed 1 p.m. EDT (17:00 GMT), 24 August 2015 Notifications for accepted and declined submissions sent IEEE Day 2015 6 October 2015 WHAT IS A SEED GRANT? Seed grant funding is used for smaller scale initiative projects or pilot programs that are innovative and may entail more risk. These projects may include a proof of concept in preparation for subsequent full-scale implementation. Funding is limited to grants that require US$40,000 or less and take 12 months or less to complete. Funds may not be used to pay salaries or to purchase capital equipment. IEEE New Initiative Committee will fund two (2) or more seed grant proposals that are submitted in response to this call for proposals. WHO CAN SUBMIT? Seed grant proposals in response to IEEE in 2030 Challenge may be submitted by one or more IEEE members or organizational units, individually or in cooperation with an IEEE staff group. WHEN TO SUBMIT The due date for proposals submitted in response to this call is no later than 1:00 p.m. EDT on the due date.
