SSCS Santa Clara Valley Chapter Hosts Ada Poon

The IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society
(SSCS) Santa Clara Valley Chapter invited Ada Poon, assistant professor
at Stanford University in the Department of Electrical Engineering, to
give a lecture on wireless bioelectronics. The lecture was held on
21 April 2016 at the headquarters of
Maxim Integrated. The event attracted people from both industry and
academia. Prof. Poon's talk focused
on miniaturized electronics and
wireless interfaces. She described a
Digital Object Identifier 10.1109/MSSC.2016.2575618

new method for electromagnetic energy transfer that exploits near-field
interactions with biological tissue to
wirelessly power tiny devices anywhere in the body. She also touched
on the engineering and experimental
challenges of these interfaces. Following Prof. Poon's presentation, attendees asked questions and engaged
in deep discussions. This lecture is
part of the SSCS webinar series and
will be broadcast to SSCS members
later this year.
