talk, "Nano Device Modeling," in which he explored the challenges
and opportunities in FinFet technology and different techniques by
which FinFet controllability and carrier mobility can be increased. he
also shed light on green engineering.

The second afternoon session of
day one was remarkable. In the plenary talk "Power Aware VLSI Testing," Dr. Krishnakumar, from FISAT,
Eranakulam, discussed the need for
testing and presented a logical way
to reduce the power for testing. He
also drew attendees' attention to
thermal-aware testing, which has

become a major problem. Seven papers followed his informative talk,
totaling 11 for the day.
Day two of the conference started at 9:30 am with a plenary talk,
"Tutorial on Analog and Digital
Circuit Design," by Dr. K.R. Ajayan,
associate professor, College of Engineering, Trivandrum. He provided
cutting-edge details of MOS theory,
based on band bending and shortcut
methods for digital circuit design.
The morning session continued

with a plenary talk by Dr. Anil
Kottantharayil, associate professor,
IIT Bombay, "Photovoltaic Research
Under the National Centre for Photovoltaic Research and Education."
His impressive talk and the open
discussion that followed focused
on the importance of solar energy
and the operation of solar cells. Dr.
Kottantharayil also remarked on the
higher education opportunities that
IT offers to graduates and post graduate students.
