ECE Faculty Positions at NC State University
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at NC State University seeks
outstanding candidates for two tenure-track positions at all ranks in the areas of nano-enabled ultra-low power
devices, energy harvesting devices and systems, ultra-low power sensors and low power circuits. Candidates
interested in applying nanotechnology to improve understanding and measurement of human physiological parameters and of the man-machine interface are also encouraged to apply. Expertise is also being sought in
soft materials and biocompatibility. These positions support the NSF-funded Advanced Self-powered Systems of
Integrated Sensors and Technologies (ASSIST) Nanosystems Engineering Research Center that seeks to produce
self-powered devices for health and environmental monitoring. Candidates must possess a PhD in electrical or
computer engineering or a related discipline at the time of appointment, and must have demonstrated the potential to build a strong research program and an excellent teaching record.
The ECE Department has 50 tenured/tenure-track faculty members, over 900 undergraduate students, and over
600 graduate students. It offers BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering, ranked 32nd*, and Computer
Engineering, ranked 30th* (*according to US News and World Report), and an MS degree in Computer Networking. The College of Engineering is ranked 25th in the Academic Ranking of World Universities (as compiled by
Shanghai Jiao Tong University). NC State is ranked 4th in industry research funding among US universities
without medical schools.
ECE faculty frequently collaborate with local industry. The University is located in the technology-rich Research
Triangle area, which is routinely recognized as one of the best places to live due to outstanding public schools,
affordable housing, and great weather, all in the proximity of the mountains and the seashore.
Applicants will receive consideration from February 15, 2014 until suitable candidates are identified. Applicants
should reference the ASSIST website (http://assist.ncsu.edu) for position number and required application documents to submit at http://jobs.ncsu.edu.

Several Faculty Positions in Electrical and Computer Engineering
New York University, one of the largest and most highly regarded private
universities, is seeking to add several tenured/tenure-track faculty
members to its Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department
as part of a major multiyear growth phase. The faculty and students of the
School are at the forefront of the high-tech start-up culture in New York
City and have access to world-class research centers in cyber security
(crissp.poly.edu) and wireless communications (nyuwireless.com),
among other areas. We enjoy close collaborations with the Langone
School of Medicine, the Courant Institute and other Schools of NYU.
The ECE Department invites outstanding applications for tenure-track or
tenured faculty appointments in all areas of ECE, with particular emphasis
on Computer Engineering and RF/Analog Circuits.
Candidates with a strong record of interdisciplinary research and funding
in emerging areas are preferred. Candidates must have a PhD degree in
ECE or related discipline and must have the ability to develop and lead
high-quality research and attract external funding. Applicants should
include a cover letter, current resume, research and teaching statements,
and letters from at least three references. All application materials should
be submitted electronically via the website: poly.edu/ece-positions
Applications received by January 17, 2014 will receive full consideration.
