Postdoctoral
Associate -
Radar Engineer
The Submillimeter-Wave Technology
Laboratory (STL) at the University of
Massachusetts Lowell invites outstanding
candidates for a full-time, benefited, twoyear postdoctoral associate position in the
areas of millimeter-wave and terahertz radar
technology. STL is a vibrant, forwardlooking Laboratory that runs a nationally
recognized radar-modeling program based
on millimeter-wave - terahertz coherent
transceiver systems supporting radar
signature collection efforts for US Army,
Air Force, Navy and FFRDC sponsors.
A postdoctoral associate is sought to build
upon these technologies to help design,
develop, and construct the next generation
high frequency hardware & software
imaging systems. The candidate should
be highly driven, growth-oriented, and
capable of demonstrating their potential as
an independent researcher. Specifically, STL
is seeking motivated individuals to assist
with the development of millimeter-wave terahertz near field or compact range bistatic
radar systems for collection of target RCS
data, micro-Doppler signatures of moving
targets, and generation of 3D interferometric
imagery. This is a 2-year appointment
contingent upon continued external funding.
An engineering team highly experienced in
coherent transceiver systems, radar signature
measurements, and signal/image processing
will mentor the associate. While at STL,
the associate is also expected to acquire the
critical skills necessary to lead Ph.D. level
R&D teams, publish peer-reviewed journal
articles, and write proposals exploring
novel high frequency remote sensing, radar,
image processing, and material technologies
consistent with STL's broad mission.
Salary commensurate with experience.
Range: $48,000 - $65,000
Minimum Qualifications: At a minimum, the
applicant must have an earned Doctorate in
Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or
closely related field prior to March 1, 2015,
experience with RF, millimeter-wave, or THz
system design, experience with digital signal
processing (DSP) concepts. The applicant
should also have excellent oral/written
communication and interpersonal skills
and be a US citizen able to obtain a security
clearance within three months of hiring date.
Programming skills with MATLAB, LabVIEW,
EM CAD are highly desirable. Programming
skills in LabVIEW, MATLAB, Mathematica,
etc. are desirable, but not required.
To apply, please submit a cover letter,
curriculum vitae, research statement,
publication list, and the names and
contact information of three professional
references at https://jobs.uml.edu. Review of
applications will begin on January 15, 2015,
and will continue until the position is filled.
However, the position may close when an
adequate number of qualified applications
is received.
The University of Massachusetts Lowell is
an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action,
Title IX employer. All qualified applicants
will receive consideration for employment
without regard to race, sex, color, religion,
national origin, ancestry, age over 40,
protected veteran status, disability, sexual
orientation, gender identity/expression,
marital status, or other protected class.

University of Windsor
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Windsor is seeking an
outstanding candidate for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful
candidate must have an interdisciplinary interest and, preferably, demonstrate expertise in both of the
following areas: i) Mechatronic Systems and Devices: sensors and actuators; design, modeling, and
control of mechatronic systems; and ii) Power Electronics with interests in one or more application
areas of embedded and real time systems to electric and hybrid vehicles, electric energy and battery
management systems, development of novel power converters and control strategies, alternative
energy and energy storage systems, and energy harvesting. Individuals with an undergraduate and
a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering with a demonstrated performance or potential for scholarly
research, as well as a commitment to undergraduate/graduate teaching are encouraged to apply.
Registration or eligibility to register as Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario is a must.
This normally requires an undergraduate engineering degree from a reputable university. The
University of Windsor has a strong commitment to high quality research and offers an excellent
research environment. The ECE Department has existing research expertise in VLSI/Microelectronics,
signal processing, communication, computer and machine vision, computer engineering, electric
vehicles, and control systems. It hosts a Tier 1 and a Tier 2 Canada Research Chairs in Automotive
Sensing and Electric Vehicles. It is expected that the candidate for this position would be able to
complement the existing research activities in one or more areas within the Department.
Located at one of Canada's major international intersections, the University of Windsor
plays a unique leading role in the future of the region and the province of Ontario. With
approximately 17,000 students, including 1,700 graduate students in a broad range of
Masters and Doctoral programs, the University of Windsor is Canada's most personal comprehensive
university.
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The University of Windsor is
