The College of Engineering, Temple University is searching for
outstanding individuals at all academic levels to join the
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as tenured
or tenure-track faculty. Areas of expertise include but are not
limited to cyberphysical systems, cyber security, wireless sensor
networks, smart grid, network security, health informatics, sensors
and human-machine interface. The Department offers academic
programs leading to ABET accredited BSEE, MSEE and a Collegewide PhD degree. The Department has a growing research program
with external funding from various federal and industrial sources
including NSF, ONR, NASA, and DARPA. Applicants should hold
a doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering
or closely related fields. Successful candidates are expected to
establish active externally funded research programs and to achieve
excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Senior applicants levels are expected to have a strong track record
of externally funded research, who will provide leadership in
research. Salaries for new faculty are highly competitive, and
substantial resources have been allocated for start-up funding.
Applicants should upload a curriculum vitae, three recent
publications, a statement of goals, research objectives and teaching
philosophy, and the contact information for four referees, to the

Faculty Positions Available
The Electrical and Computer Engineering
(ECE) Division is looking to fill three tenured or tenure-track faculty positions,
at the assistant and associate levels. Of particularly interest are candidates in
areas of power and energy systems, cyber-physical systems and networked
controls, and computer engineering (secure networking, high performance
computer architecture for big data application, and embedded or biologicallyinspired computing hardware).
The minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in an
area appropriate to the ECE disciplines by the start of the appointment and
a strong commitment to academic activities, including teaching, scholarly
publications and sponsored research. Successful candidates will have an
exceptional record of scholarly research and, at the senior levels, be highly
recognized for their technical contributions and leadership in their areas of
expertise.
Located in Orlando, UCF has over 60,000 students and is the nation's second largest university. The ECE Division has strong educational and research
programs, with over 300 graduate students and 1,500 undergraduates, and
a state-of-the-art facility -the Harris Engineering Center. Currently, ECE has
three competitively-awarded research centers: FEEDER funded by DoE, Electric Vehicle Research Center funded by US DoT, and MIST funded by NSF.
Additional research sponsors include DARPA, NASA, ARO, AMD, Analog
Devices, Harris Corporation, Intel, L-3 Communications, Leidos, Lockheed
Martin, and Texas Instruments as well as local high-tech start-ups.
To submit an application, please go to: http://www.jobswithucf.com/postings/39787 (position number: 38547 and 37054) and for computer engineering: http://www.jobswithucf.com/postings/39854 (position number: 38374)
UCF is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. Women and minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Department of Computer Science at the University of
Chicago invites applications from exceptionally qualified
candidates for faculty positions at the rank of Associate
Professor in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Outstanding
researchers working in Artificial Intelligence, which include both
the theory of machine learning and applications to areas such
as natural language processing, computer vision, and computer
systems are encouraged to apply.
The University of Chicago has the highest standards for
scholarship and faculty quality, is dedicated to fundamental
research, and encourages collaboration across disciplines. We
encourage strong connections with researchers across campus
in areas such as the biological and physical sciences.
The Department of Computer Science (cs.uchicago.edu) is the
hub of a large, diverse computing community of two hundred
researchers focused on advancing foundations of computing
and driving its most advanced applications. Long distinguished
in theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence, the
Department is now building strong systems and machine learning
groups. The larger community in these areas at the University of
Chicago includes the Department of Statistics, the Computation
Institute, the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago (TTIC),
and the Mathematics and Computer Science Division at Argonne
National Laboratory.
The Chicago metropolitan area provides a diverse and exciting
environment. The local economy is vigorous, with international
stature in banking, trade, commerce, manufacturing, and
transportation, while the cultural scene includes diverse
cultures, vibrant theater, world-renowned symphony, opera,
jazz, and blues. The University is located in Hyde Park, a Chicago
neighborhood on the Lake Michigan shore just a few minutes
from downtown.
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Computer Science
or a related field such as Mathematics or Statistics and be
several years beyond the Ph.D. Applicants are expected to
