Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate
classes in areas of computer and electrical
engineering; conduct research in related
fields and publish scholarly work; and advise

Required Qualifications: Ph.D in Computer or Electrical Engineering or
a closely related field is required by date of appointment. Extensive academic and/or industrial experience -- established record of research and
teaching -- is required at the Associate Professor level. Desired areas
of expertise: all areas of computer and electrical engineering, including
computer architecture/design/ security; distributed and parallel systems;
embedded systems design; robotics and computer vision; bioelectrical

The Department Of Electrical Engineering And Computer Science (EECS) at Vanderbilt University in
Nashville, Tennessee is seeking a senior scholar and
academic leader to serve as the founding Director of
the Vanderbilt Center for Music, Science and Technology. This Center is envisioned to be a new major
trans-institutional initiative bridging the Schools of Engineering, Music,
Arts and Science, Education and Human Development, Business, and
the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The successful candidate is
expected to be qualified for appointment at the tenured professor rank
in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science, and should have an
established, active research program in one or more interdisciplinary
areas that connect music with engineering and the sciences. The candidate also must have a demonstrated track record of building and leading
interdisciplinary research teams. The desired expertise of the candidate
will be consistent with the planned Center research focus areas and
include perception, cognition, and neuroscience of music, audio, and
speech and the human-sound connection; the science and technology
of musical sound production and auditory spaces; audio and musical
sound creation, production, and sound reproduction technologies; music informatics; and/or the kinesiology and psychology of music performance and musical skill learning. Successful candidates are expected to
teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to develop vigorous
programs of externally funded research.

engineering, or computer science. Successful candidates are expected to
contribute to the development of academic and research programs and to

"Networks of things" and distributed sensing; telemetry and applications;
