The Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering (ECE) at the George Washington
University (GWU) invites applications for a tenured or tenure track
faculty appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level. The
University has recently made substantial investments in a new Class
100 nano-fabrication facility (https://nic.gwu.edu/) within its brand

candidates who have established national and international leadership in

Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Electrical Engineering
The College of Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical
University in Daytona Beach, Florida, has an ambitious
agenda focused on expanding its graduate programs, research
capabilities, facilities, and talented faculty. The Electrical,
Computer, Software, and Systems Engineering Department
currently invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the
Assistant Professor level starting in Jan. or Aug. 2017.
Applicants should have a doctorate in electrical or computer
engineering; practical related experience is valued. The
successful candidate will excel at teaching & mentoring
undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students, and will bring
or develop externally funded research supporting core
department areas-including but not limited to UAS sense &
avoid (e.g., radar, avionics, comms., & remote sensing).
Faculty research opportunities exist at our NEAR Lab, a
premiere center for modeling and simulation, at the Eagle
Flight Research Center, a leader in flight control systems,
UAS, and green aviation, and through the FAA's ASSURE
Center of Excellence in Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Related
labs in the MicaPlex-the cornerstone building of ERAU's
Research Park-span radar, sensors, unmanned systems, and
spacecraft, and are scheduled for completion in early 2017.

University of Central Florida (UCF)
Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE)
The department has openings for exceptional tenured or tenure-track
faculty members, two in ECE as well as multiple openings in UCF's
energy systems cluster.
All areas of ECE are considered. Of special interests are mid-career or
entry-level candidates in controls, brain monitoring and biomedical
sensing, high-frequency circuits, machines and drives, power devices,
robotics, energy harvesting and storage, energy efficient computing,
embedded systems, GPU design and multicore systems, embedded
software, mobile computing devices, IoT, and big data.
The cluster of Resilient, Intelligent and Sustainable Energy Systems
(RISES) has five open faculty positions at senior and entry-level levels.
The areas of interest include but are not limited to: PV systems; planning
and optimization for transmission networks; protection and control
of distribution networks; forecast and optimization for renewables;
distributed energy resources; wide area monitoring and control; secure
power networks and cyber physical systems; (critical) infrastructure
management; energy and resource economics; and design of resilient

the senior levels, be highly recognized for their technical contributions
and leadership in their areas of expertise.
ECE has strong educational and research programs, with over 300
graduate students and 1,000 undergraduates, and a state-of-theart facility, the Harris Engineering Center. The department has three
competitively-awarded research centers: FEEDER funded by Department
of Energy, the Electric Vehicle Research Center funded by the US
Department of Transportation, and MIST funded by NSF. Additional
research sponsors include DARPA, NASA, ARO, AMD, Analog Devices,
Harris, Intel, L-3 Communication, Leidos, Lockheed Martin, Siemens,
and Texas Instruments as well as local high-tech start-ups. In 2016,
UCF's ECE department is ranked the 30th among US public universities
by US News and World Report.
