The School of Engineering at the University of New Mexico invites
applications for the position of Department Chair of the Electrical and
Computer Engineering Department. The position will also include a
tenured appointment as Professor of Electrical and Computer
Engineering. Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Electrical or
Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Experience
commensurate with that of a full Professor or equivalent industry
experience is required. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications
and experience.
Preferred qualifications include demonstrated engineering leadership, a
research record of marked distinction and significant impact, a strong
commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, prior
administrative experience, proven teaching skills, exceptional
communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to articulate a
vision for furthering the national stature of the Electrical and Computer
Engineering Department.

FACULTY POSITIONS IN TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING
The Telecommunications Engineering Program (http://tcom.ou.edu) of the School of
Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for two tenure-track faculty
appointments at the assistant professor level beginning August 1, 2013. The University of Oklahoma-Tulsa offers a Master's degree in Telecommunication Engineering and
Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer
Engineering. Current areas of focus of the programs are in quantum optics, telecommunications networking including optical and wireless technologies, image processing
and electromagnetic interference testing. Five well equipped labs - the Interoperability
Lab, Quantum Optics Lab, Wireless Networking Lab, Photonics Lab and Electromagnetic
Compliance Testing Lab - support the OU-Tulsa programs.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Engineering or Applied Physics with a strong interest in
Telecommunications. A successful candidate will be expected to pursue an independent
program of research and have a strong commitment to graduate teaching. A track record
of external funding or evidence of creating one will be a definite asset. Screening of candidates will begin February 1, 2013 and continue until the position is filled.

The Department of ECE is a diverse research group of faculty,
students, and post-doctoral researchers in the College of
Engineering and Computing (CEC). To address modern
