for
multiple tenure-track faculty positions at all levels and in areas of
engineering and science that match its multidisciplinary mission.
The ZJU-UIUC Institute is a new engineering college on the new Zhejiang
University (ZJU) International Campus in Haining, China, about 120 km southwest
of Shanghai. The ZJU-UIUC Institute conducts teaching and research in broad
program themes of engineering and system sciences; information and data
sciences; and energy, environment, and infrastructure sciences. Undergraduate
and graduate degrees are offered in civil and environmental engineering,
computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, and
mechanical engineering. Applications are welcome from relevant engineering
disciplines, physics, materials science, and mathematics. Candidates are
especially sought whose interests address interdisciplinary topics exemplified
by intelligent infrastructure, digital manufacturing, transportation electrification,
environmental sustainability, energy and water integration, mobile systems,
thermal management, high-performance and distributed computing, terahertz
technology and systems, communications and networks, advanced electronics
and photonics, and atomic-scale materials. Classes and student activities at the
ZJU-UIUC Institute are conducted in English.
Successful candidates will initiate and lead collaborative research and teaching,
and perform academic and professional service duties associated with the ZJUUIUC Institute. They will be leaders for teaching and research innovation, giving
students a meaningful and interactive engineering education.
Assistant professor candidates must have an earned doctorate and at least
two years of post-degree experience, excellent academic credentials, strong
research plans, and an outstanding ability to teach effectively.
Mid-career candidates must be established leaders in their field; exhibit strong
records of teaching, publication, and funded research; and demonstrate
participation in interdisciplinary collaborations.
Senior appointments are available for persons of international stature seeking to
build substantial interdisciplinary research and teaching programs.
Faculty positions report to the ZJU-UIUC Institute, and new faculty members
will serve as Joint Institute Fellows on the University of Illinois at UrbanaChampaign (UIUC) campus for one year prior to work in China.

NYU Shanghai is currently inviting applications for tenured/tenure track positions
at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. We will consider applicants
in all areas of electrical and computer engineering, and have a particular interest
in applicants in the fields of Multimedia Analytics, Neural Engineering, Systems
Neuroscience, Robotics, Smart Cities and Smart Vehicles. The applicants must
have demonstrated abilities in both research and teaching. Candidates must have
completed a Ph.D. or equivalent by the time of appointment.
The terms of employment in NYU Shanghai are comparable to U.S. institutions in
terms of research start-up funds and compensation, and include housing subsidies
and educational subsidies for children. Faculty may also spend time at NYU New York
and other sites of the NYU global network, engaging in both research and teaching.
