plays key roles in emerging areas
like biomanufacturing, nanotechnology, and energy.
◆ Industrial Interfaces. This TC
serves as an interface between
the IEEE (standards and activities) and industry to promote
real-world engineering activities.
It addresses the needs of all sectors of industry and focuses on
the topics of energy and power,
communications, sensors, automation, systems and controls, process controls, data collection and
analysis, and risk management.
◆ Networked Systems. This TC concentrates on the impact of various forms of networked systems
in the world, including those
created by humans (e.g., information and logistics) and those
found in nature (e.g., biological
swarms and communal ecosystems). An emphasis is placed

on understanding and adapting
techniques, methods, and models derived from the field of network science to address issues
w ith moder n networked systems and improve upon the de sign of such systems.
◆ Intelligent Transportation Design.
This TC captures the essence
of machine-enabled human and
cargo transportation through all
modes of travel. Issues associated
with the safe implementation of
electromechanical systems supporting autonomous and semiautonomous transport are identified

to the power processes, internal
and external electronics, and the
material integrity of electromechanical systems.
◆ Workforce Development. The goal
of this TC is to broadly capture
the future technical environment
and refine engineering training
requirements to meet and extend
these technical needs. Science,
technology, engineering, and
math; undergraduate; graduate;
postgraduate; early career; midcareer; and retirement/consulting
service education will be suitably
advanced and refined to challenge
and mature the capabilities of even
the most seasoned field engineers.
◆ Business Systems and Engineering Economics. This is a new TC
that is just starting up.
◆ Standards Committee. This new
committee will look across the
spectrum of systems engineering
and directly related areas and
determine if there is opportunity
to initiate a new IEEE standard
in the field.
◆ Systems Biology and Biomedical
Systems. This TC addresses technical areas that are interdisciplinary, involving biology, physiology,
signal processing, wireless sensing, and data analytics, with applications like assistive systems,
rehabilitation, and health monitoring systems.

who are willing to speak to IEEE
Chapters, Sections, Societies, and
