with involvement of male, female,
young, and older users. To ensure
the reliability of the sample, the
sample data was tested by experts
against the Cronbach algorithm,
which provided positive results.
The user age in the sample was
between min years=15 and max
years=48, the percentage of female
respondents was 21%. Young users,
min age=15 and max age=22, represent 34% of the sample. The
users were asked about their abilities to understand the threats that
they are exposed to, and their
awareness of the security choices
available to them in order to mitigate the identified threats and risks.
The survey included 23 questions.
The total user survey sample was
N=1644; in each country, the number of 200 surveyed users was set
as a goal. The survey was administered online, but in some countries it was completed on paper
only, and later the answers were
transcribed onto the online survey
